All met at Allen Park High School, and were all in the concert choir at one time . Danny and the others used to rehearse in Danny's basement, where brother Rick (Tim Tam) heard them, joined in and wrote their big hit for them, "Wait A Minute". They sold 30,000 copies of the single the first month after its release. Rick Wiesend and Tom DeAngelo wrote all the material. Fellow classmates from Allen Park High, "The Sattelights" became their backup band. "Wait A Minute" opens with a brief a cappella introduction "I am searching for a new love..." (which originated in 1950s versions of "Sunday Kind of Love" by doo-wop groups such as The Harptones and The Del-Vikings) before it turns into an up-tempo stomper for the remainder of its 2:15 duration.
