Tic Toc Tokyo release their new single, ‘Ritual’, on October 16. Ritual, sees the band developing their unique sound of haunting vocals, abrasive tones and percussive rhythms and develops the more experimental aspects of TTT’s debut EP, ‘Artefacts’, released earlier this year. An expansive sound is explored and space is taken on as an integral element that is accentuated when the song shifts with its own form of dub-influenced sound. Surfacing in late 2005, TTT quickly made a name for themselves in the Melbourne music scene and beyond, fuelled by their infamous demo recordings (which received radio play on Triple J, RRR, and Sydney's FBI Radio) and their raucous live performances. Utilising a collaborative song writing process to create dynamic and contorted songs, TTT occupy their own space within Australia’s musical climate and have shared stages with a diverse array of bands including Snowman, Midnight Juggernauts, I Heart Hiroshima and Baseball. Ritual, sees Tic Toc Tokyo continuing to carve out their place as a relevant and exciting band of their time and place.
