There are several bands named Thulsa Doom: 1.) Thulsa Doom is a Norwegian stoner rock band. Their name comes from the Robert E. Howard character Thulsa Doom, portrayed by James Earl Jones in the movie Conan the Barbarian. The band was formed in 1999 by guitarist Ole Petter Andreassen (The Cumshots, Black Debbath, El Doom & the Born Electric), who took the stage name El Doom. He was joined by his Black Debbath colleague and bass player Egil Hegerberg (a.k.a. Angelov Doom), as well as singer Papa Doom, guitarist Doom Perignon and drummer Fast Winston Doom. Their music is inspired by Kyuss and early Black Sabbath. The band's debut She Fucks Me was released in 2000, and they have since then released three full-length albums. Singer Papa Doom left the band in 2003, and guitarist Doom Perignon took over as a singer. The band's latest album Keyboard, Oh Lord! Why Don't We? from 2005 is less heavy and more melodic than the previous albums. Their cover version of The Beach Boys's Tears In The Morning was a minor TV hit in Norway in the summer of 2005, with a video directed by Jarle Medhus. The band quit in 2006, then resurfaced in 2013 with Papa Doom back as the singer, and they are currently touring around Norway.
