Artist
Begun in Bloomington, Indiana in the Summer of 2018 and directly influenced by passing of legendary epic metal figure and Manilla Road founder Mark 'the Shark' Shelton, Throne Of Iron was originally a solo project of Tucker Thomasson (ex-Thorr-Axe). Quickly recording and releasing a demo on Bandcamp, inspired by the sounds of bands such as Manilla Road, Iron Maiden, Cirith Ungol and Judas Priest, the project immediately gained recognition and was awarded a spot on the music platform's 'Best of Metal' list for August 2018. Throne of Iron are a self-proclaimed 'Dungeon Crawling Heavy Metal' band that play traditional epic/heavy metal with lyrics inspired by classic Dungeons & Dragons; a theme that continues through the artwork on their releases. Eventually, Throne Of Iron came to the attention of No Remorse Records, leading to the recruitment of more members and playing live. Throne Of Iron's debut live performance was Saturday February 2nd at The Hi-Fi, Indianapolis. On Friday 2nd August 2019 Throne Of Iron became possibly the first heavy metal band to play at Gen Con, one of the world's biggest and most well respected gaming conventions. The band contributed an exclusive track, Xanathar, to Indy Metal Vault's charity compilation album "Benefit Vol.1: Girl's Rock". This was released digitally on Bandcamp, July 16 2019. On August 19 2019 Xanathar was re-released as a digital only single on Bandcamp with new artwork. On July 20th 2019 a split EP with dungeon synth band Hillsf
