Theria is a Finnish heavy metal band from Oulu, Finland. Originally the band played mid-paced groove/thrash-metal oriented music, but their musical direction started to fuse into a melodic death metal/metalcore hybrid. Some of the original members were not pleased with the change of the musical style, so the original guitarist and bassist were replaced with new members in the summer of 2009. A lead guitarist was also welcomed to the line-up. Influenced by modern metal acts like As I Lay Dying, At The Gates, Insomnium and Killswitch Engage, and legendary heavy metal groups as Testament, Megadeth and Pantera, Theria started writing new original material, and are currently in the process of recording a demo album. As of 2010, the band made line-up changes again. Demo songs have been recorded and the band is on verge of launching out new material and getting on the road for live shows.
