When you hear Therese Elmkvists voice, you pay attention to the storytelling lyrics and her strong voice. Therese writes songs straight from her heart, and isn’t afraid to be too personal. Her lyrics go hand in hand with the melodies, and she makes a great effort in to making a perfect match between them. She was born in Norway, but moved to Denmark at the age of 4. The rough landscapes and the culture of the land in the north, still hold a big piece in her heart. Being bilingual in an early age, made her curios exploring different languages and it felt natural for her to write her songs in english. Therese graduated from the rhythmic music conservatory in June 2008, the leading education within the field of music in Denmark. Over the years, she has received lessons from different danish and international artists, such as; Anders Ørsager, Trinelise Væring, Sanne Graulund, Billy Cross, Etta Cameron, Silvana Malta, Carlos Malta, Sher Minandad Khan and Tine Refsgaard. She learned how to play the piano in an early age, but a year ago she wanted new inspiration. She bought a guitar, and decided to write all her songs on it. Her knowledge of the instrument was limited, but she saw the possibilities and stuck to it. In 2006 she made contact with a girl from London, called Rosa. Therese wanted to go to London, and had by coincidence found Rosas MySpace. She asked Rosa if she had any ideas for cheep hostels and great songwriter venues, and instead Rosa offered Therese to stay at h
