There Be Pirates! be Southern California's premiere pirate jam band. The band had two well-reviewed albums, Drink & the Devil, and Pirates in the Desert, and hails from Joshua Tree. There Be Pirates! has performed at venues from the Queen Mary to Danby Castle, and toured the UK in 2009 & 2010, performing at Liverpool's On the Waterfront festival, the Merseyside Maritime Museum, the Ryedale Folk Museum, and headlined at Scarborough's Sea Fest both years. The band performs traditional sea music, broadside ballads, shanties, and pirate songs, all with their decidedly original arrangements, as well as their own original work. Their most popular song to date is their rendition of "Derelict" (yo ho ho and a bottle of rum). There Be Pirates! is a full band, not a novelty or Ren Faire act.
