The Young Liars are indie rock band which formed in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2008. The original lineup consisted of Rizki Aryo (vocals, guitar), Aldino Kenedy (bass), and Uton Nawawi (drums). Former bassist Aldino Kennedy left the band in 2010 and replace by a new member Hardiantra. In December 2011 The Young Liars announced that Arya Pradana has joined as a new members, he's known as additional guitar of The Young Liars. While The Young Liars recording for debut album Arya Pradana decided to left the band and he replace by Arya Lintang who's accidentally has a same surname with the former member. The lead vocals Rizki Aryo is a medical doctor who has passion on indie rock music. Our name was inspired by an amusing conversation between Rizki Aryo and his friend who asked him about his band name. Rizki Aryo said “I’ve got a brilliant idea for my band name. Why don’t we call it ‘The Edison 1931’ to appreciate Thomas Alfa Edison's amazing contribution to the world and also to commemorate his death?” Rizki Aryo’s friend said, “What a YOUNG LIAR! You said that was your idea? IMPOSSIBLE!” Then he thought that ‘Young Liar’ sound very interesting, and we decided that ‘The Young Liars’ is our band name. Why? Because we understand that nothing is ever original, that every idea is a combination of stolen inspirations.
