There is more than one artist with this name: 1) The Yearlings is a Dutch alt-country band. 2) The Yearlings is an Australian roots/alt-country duo. 1) The Yearlings is a Dutch alt-country band formed in September 1999 by Olaf Koeneman and Léon Geuyen after the break-up of their band Slurf. Over the years more musicians joined the band, which eventually consisted of: Bertram Mourits (Guitar, Keyboard) Herman Gaaff (Bass) Léon Geuyen (Drums, Vocals) Niels Goudswaard (Vocals & Guitar) Olaf Koeneman (Vocals, Guitar, Mandolin, Keyboard) René van Barneveld (Banjo & Pedalsteel) In March 2006, after two albums and over a 100 concerts, the band announced that they would split. They played a final gig in their hometown Utrecht (The Netherlands) on June 18, 2006. The band reformed in 2015 in the original line-up. The third album Skywriting is released in 2018. 2) The Yearlings is an Australian roots/alt-country duo. The duo combines warm harmonies with delicate flat-picking and sparse country blues to create songs that are at once haunting and soothing. Hailing from Adelaide, The Yearlings have pushed new limits in Australia's Roots/Alt. country scene. Robyn Chalklen and Chris Parkinson have wasted no time in getting down to the business of making music since meeting at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2000. Their successful self-titled debut album (released on Reckless Records in 2003) was recorded live in 8 hours and long-listed for an ARIA nomination. The Yearlings
