There are at least three bands who share this name: 1. The XYZ Affair was an American indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York. The band consists of Alex Feder (guitar, vocals), Chris Bonner (bass), Sam Rockwell (drums), and Russ Maschmeyer (guitar, keyboards). Their name comes from the 1797 diplomatic episode known as the XYZ Affair. After 8 years together, the band announced their breakup in December of 2009, via their official website. 2. The XYZ Affair was a South Bend, Indiana rock band active in the 90's. They formed while the members were attending Notre Dame and were featured on a few campus compilations in their time before fading away and most likely disbanding before being able to put out an EP or an album. 3. The XYZ Affair was a screamo/hardcore punk band active at some point in the 2000s. They released a single EP.
