The Woodstove Flapjacks String Band are a bluegrass band based in Lafayette, Indiana. Their music focuses on the heritage of old time string band sounds from the Ohio River Valley, centered around one microphone with a solid base of Dobro, Washtub Bass, Guitar, Fiddle and Banjo. The band features original tunes as well as rare selections that are now part of the public domain. In addition to the five classic instruments, the Flapjacks feature washboard percussion, harmonica, kazoo and mandolin. The Woodstove Flapjacks String Band as listed on their 2008 self-released album The Right Kind of Dirty are: B. Hall on washtub bass, vocals; Christopher Johnson on banjo, vocals; James Morrow on resonator guitar, vocals; Billy Brand on fiddle, washboard, vocals and Matt Scherger on guitar, vocals.
