The wooden spoons introduce a fresh, contemporary, yet traditional approach of song-writing and arrangements, taking themselves a step back (or forward?) from the current suffocated market of the indie post-punk culture. These young, mischievous spoons strive into the mist of epic sea shanty sing-a-longs, distinctive musical progressions and preach even more decadent, sinister tales of humanity. Comprising of twin brothers Dan and Graeme as well as fellow musicians Rich and Joshua, their full band set up generally includes piano, drums, percussion and guitars; therefore offering them more than enough tools to keep their ultra-smart pop utterly varied and unique. Taking influence from the ability of good story telling, they write songs that transcend the mundane, often concerning such characters as Victorian courtesans and lonely cowboys. It’s a songwriting approach that's as refreshing as the music itself. www.myspace.com/thewoodenspoons User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
