Have you ever subtly noticed the pattern of tilted ideas and standards in every division of the media? Has the way that independence and originality are quietly shunned in our culture ever bothered you? Are you aware of the way in which stereotypes are becoming more prominent in our society? We ask not to inquire a response, but to inspire thought; what do you stand for? Matt Johnson and Gordon Walters met through a mutual friend during the summer of 2005. It seemed as though their introduction was a mismatch; neither saw eye to eye on anything at all. However, through a mishap of circumstances, they ended up holding their respective instruments in the same room one afternoon. This equation erupted an initial musical chemistry between the two young musicians. This chemistry would be kindled until it evolved into a maturing relationship, which would produce the most eclectic combination of electro-rock spasms, sugar-sweet pop melodies, ethereal chord progressions, and an overflow of indie energy. Through broken-down vans, early morning disputes, and the loss of a founding band member, Matt and Gordon continued to create music and write songs together against all odds. With the help of their good friend and sound engineer Daniel Warren, The Widescreen Edition is on a road towards widespread recognition. And The Widescreen Edition shows no signs of slowing down.
