The Whip of the UFO is Andrew Scott from Vancouver British Columbia, Canada, and Jon Schofield from York, in the U.K. Since 1993, Scott has created both structured and abstract industrial noise, often experimenting with circuit bent toys and re purposed analogue synthesizers from the telecom and video game industries. Andrew frequently collaborates with other artists like Stefan Smulovitz, Giorgio Magnanensi, Derek Champion, and other experimental electronic and noise musicians from the Vancouver area. He has been part of The Eye of Newt Collective, SSN Monster Orchestra, Church of Hell, concrete cutter, Ad., and other improvisational and experimental musical groups. The band name is a reference to early Canadian agricultural politics, and refers specifically to Andrew's great grand father Andrew Hicks, who was the Whip if the United Framers of Ontario in the early 1900s.
