The Wantley Dragons are an alternative folk rock band based in South Yorkshire (UK), comprising Dave Roebuck (Guitars, Mandolin, Banjo and Vocals) and Pete Fearnley (Guitars, Bass, Keyboards and Vocals). We are named after the Dragon of Wantley - subject of bawdy ballad, medieval myth and local legend; not to mention novel, opera and multiple other sightings - which terrorised our bit of South Yorkshire in the mythical past. Not because we see ourselves as musical terrorists, but because our music is strongly associated with a sense of place and home - the hearth to which our hearts will forever return. If we occasionally give folks a well-aimed kick up the backside, then that's all well and good.
