There are at least two groups named The Vows: 1. The Vows were a mid-1960s sould/R&B group that recorded a few cuts for Motown. Nót a stage name for erstwhile Motown mover and shaker Richard “Popcorn” Wylie, as is often reported, The Vows were in fact a rather obscure raucous West Coast R&B group who provided backing vocals on a few early sides for Motown subsidiary VIP Records before getting a one-off single deal of their own. Best known track is probably 'Show Girl'. 2. The Vows are a Seattle, WA, based American hardcore band showcasing an old skool hardcore sound. The line-up features members from influential Seattle bands like Champion, Betrayed and Himsa.
