In today’s harshly competitive music scene, even great acts can fall by the wayside. That’s what had happened when founding members of Kingston’s “a dying race” and lead singer of “Betablokka” found themselves standing in the ashes of their previous projects, looking for new beginnings. Driven to continue making music, they formed the “Vital Side” in April 2008. The band immediately started working on songs that showcased the diverse influences of each of the five members. The result of more than a year of work is the nine songs that comprise their debut album "doppelganger" which will be released on July 18th of 2009. The Vital Side’s original sound blends melodic hooks and thought-provoking lyrics amid high-gain explosions and haunting ambiance. The band is now playing shows throughout Ontario to promote the album with plans of widespread touring later this year.
