"Not In The Charts, Number 1. in Your Hearts... the Violet, Violet Pets" The Violet Pets were situated in London between 2002 -2007 and produced what they call "Glo-Fi" pop records in a variety of bedrooms and bedsits. They produced several albums which famously were limited to 100 copies and given out for free before deleting them (the most famous of these is 2005's "Seperate Rooms"). There are a whole range of myths revolving around the band including a tale in which they sent a cd in a jiffybag to Xfm's John Kennedy only to receive the same jiffybag back a few weeks later with an actual poo in it! The Violet Pets rarely play live although notable shows have occured at The Foundry and at The Roxy. One of the band's highlights was an exclusive live set on one time Band Of Holy Joy singer Johny Brown's Resonance FM show who declared them as a reason to bring back Top Of The Pops. Ian Watson of popular indiepop club/record label "How Does It Feel To Be Loved" once claimed that the Violet Pets could be "the new Pastels". A new Violet Pets album "Just Shy" was expected to be given away in late 2007 but seems to be condemmed to "lost album" status. Dr.T left the band and fled to Australia in 2005 and released a handfull of tracks under the nom-the-plume 'The Competion' before focussing on crime fighting (no really, it's true!). PhoeniX PhiL retreated from the biz however has made rare appearances playing on stage with the PopArt Allstars and contributing piano and a guit
