The Vineyard Sound is a semi-professional vocal group that is an annual fixture of summer entertainment on the island of Martha's Vineyard, MA. Founded in 1992, the all-male group draws its members from select colleges and universities from across, up, and down the east coast. Since its creation, the group has grown to accept auditions from people from colleges all over the country, and currently the members of VS hail from the Skidmore College Bandersnatchers, the William & Mary Gentlemen of the College, the Wesleyan Spirits, the UConn Conn-Men, and Emory's No Strings Attached. Starting June 1st, the season's members of the group move into one house to begin the strict practice regimen that continues throughout the summer. Their diverse repertoire is comprised of the best music from the collegiate a cappella scene; everything from jazz standards to contemporary pop songs. At any Vineyard Sound performance, fans of all ages can expect to enjoy stellar vocals, inventive and award-winning arrangements, and engaging humor. As of the Summer of 2007, The Vineyard Sound included: Dave Baker (Skidmore) Billy Flanagan (William & Mary) Dan Carroll (UConn) Jeff Drew (UConn) Brendan Dolan (Emory) Owen Bennion (Wesleyan) Ryan Earls (UConn) Matt Prior (UConn) Tatsuya Adachi (Skidmore) Allie Levey (Wesleyan) User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
