Straight out of Martin, TN, The Vent Depart is a five piece band that has been compared to everything from Maylene and the Sons of Disaster to "Norma Jean sucker-punching Every Time I Die" with a southern kick. After many changes, the band lineup solidified into its current form: Trent Sullivan: Guitar Michael Kimbrough: Keys, Sounds Jason Towater: Vocals Jordan Barker: Bass Joshua Mallard: Drums Their sophomore EP effort, Back Where I Started, is a much rawer and experimental sound, much like a concept album lyrically, and musically, it spans through rock, bits of hardcore, and southern elements. They have been touring all across West Tennessee, and have played sets at various venues including The Third Floor in Paris, Tennessee, The New Daisy in Memphis, and Rocketown in Nashville. Currently the band is looking for a tour trailer, and looking to get good turn outs to shows. If you live in the Martin area, and love to tear it up, definitely give this band a listen.
