The Velvet Hearts are a six-piece British rock band based around the songwriting talents of John James Newman (Guitar/Lead Vocal) and Steve Jones (Keyboard / Sax). Live performances are fronted by Newman whose approach is engaging and infectious. The six-piece lineup enables their live performances to sound as polished as their studio work. Newman's Acoustic Guitar is accompanied up by Quest Quinton's electric, with Jamie Bruce enriching the vocal performance. The understated partnership of Lydia Cascarino-Close on bass and Ollie Richmond-Jones on drums provides a tight bedrock that drives the performance home. Their first EP "Into the World" was released in June 2007.
