The Vandalias were presented as a cartoon band consisting of Vandalia brothers JimJim (guitar/vocals), Bobby (bass) and Alan (guitar), but they were actually Minneapolis residents Dan Sarka and Peter Daniel, with lead guitarist Kent Militzer. They released two Power Pop albums on legendary label Big Deal, "Mach V" in 1995 and "Buzz Bomb" in 1998. It was their intention to have an animated television show, but that never got off the ground. Among their influences were the Raspberries, the Beatles and the Who. In 2003, Sarka and Militzer, with their band Stingray Green, released the album "Hard Numbers."
