The Vacant Eyes are progressive metal band from Prague, Czech Republic, founded in 2009 by the guitarist and songwriter Martin Bejšovec. The band combines an aggressive riffing played on 8 string guitars with melodic, post-rock/metal layers mostly with a strong melancholic aspect; and uses harsh vocals (both screams and growl) as well as clean vocals in their music. After the three-song instrumental demo "A Message In the Bottle" (heavily influenced by Dream Theater, Opeth, Porcupine tree etc.), recorded in 2009; and EP called "Bright Sky" (which was a huge step into math/technical metal territory but didn´t reflect nowadays music of The Vacant Eyes at all) recorded in 2011, there were some line-up changes that eventually set the current line-up of the band: Dima Alivanov - vocals Martin Bejšovec - guitar, vocals Jakub Jedinák - guitar Jakub Veselý - bassguitar Adam Bejšovec - drums The debut CD of The Vacant Eyes, concept 11-track album called "Spheres" is available for free download/name your price on Bandcamp profile of the band.
