The Union City All-Stars formed in 1929 on the banks of the Mississippi River, where Keith Anderson was working as a riverboat captain. There he met Roger Leising, a travelling preacher, who convinced him to move to Waco Texas to start a band. They recruited Mike Hamm and Hugh Bartling and Jason Burton to play what they called "space jams". They relocated to Oklahoma city in 1935, and then to Union City, Kentucky in 1937 after getting nervous about their friend Lance Yeager's creation of what is now called Big Red Cola. Around about 2001, the All-Stars left the earth due to a warrant issued for unpaid parking tickets. They moved the planet Vesbulon 5, where they are second only to Tom Waits in sales. Those Vesbulons love them some "Heart of Saturday Night". Asked if the All-Stars would ever return to old Kentucky... Anderson was quoted "I'm not going back... don't you listen!" Still, the All-Stars have a loyal followin' on the good old planet earth, so here's some tunes that come straight out of Union City. via Myspace 2010 User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
