"A Pure Phenomenon" was the term the late John Loots (baritone of the 1958International Champion "Gaynotes") used to describe The Tulsa Tradition. When tenor Tim Ambrose, lead Curt Angel, baritone Don Conner, and bass Doug Crowl got together back in 1990, what started out as a teaching quartet for the Tulsa #1 chapter turned into much more.Within three months, they captured the Southwestern District Championship. Then they produced their "First Hello" recording, placed as top qualifiers from the Southwestern District to International competition, and fnished in the elite Top Ten at International....all in their first year! The Tulsa Tradition has placed in the Top Ten at International competition a total of four times, finishing as high as sixth place. Along the way, they produced their second recording, "Shenandoah," and established themselves as premier entertainers on the Barbershop show circuit. The Tulsa Tradition looks forward to rekindling old friendships and making new ones as they continue to entertain audiences across the country. So say hello to Tim, Curt, Don, and Doug...as the Tulsa Tradition continues! Curt Angel and Donnie Conner also sing with the Noise Boys 2001 Champions (http://www.noiseboys.org/) User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
