The Tryptics is a Brooklyn-based indie artist that is rapidly gaining popularity within the local community. Their self-titled EP was released in May 2009. Defined by a mix of highly dynamic beats and epic vocals, The Tryptics are an eclectic fusion of hard rock and electronica, having also been compared to groups such as Radiohead, TV On The Radio and Muse. The group, formed within the last year headlining numerous shows at venues throughout New York City including Mercury Lounge, Arlene's Grocery, Pianos and Crash Mansion attracting larger audiences with every show. In addition they will make part of LA FALM festival in Bogota Colombia this year. Their live set creates a unique atmosphere combining the highly emotional sounds from their music with a vivid, visual projection. Their song "Tadpoles in a Pond" has been spun on the hit station 101.9 RXP NY in the last few months and was voted the number one Brooklyn band for several weeks.
