The Transfer is: Justin Carls - guitar Steve Tutor - vocals Steve Poirier - drums Ted Krisko - guitar Chris Larson - bass Years in the making Since the late 90's Steve Tutor and Justin Carls had worked together in various projects. With the right voice for the guitar the two continued looking for the right band. A move from the suburbs of Detroit to the west side of the state in 2001saw the arrival of Chris Larson and John Triest on drums, and the formation of The Transfer. When Triest exited the band in 2002, Steve Poirier took over on drums, and in 2003 Ted Krisko was brought on board to complete the driving guitar sound. Making a name The Transfer hit the ground running with a hot new recording and began playing shows across the state. Detroit, Ann Arbor, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, and everywhere in between. Self promotion through the internet became a huge part of the bands success and continues to do so to this day. In 2002 the band topped the alternative charts on MP3.com receiving over 30,000 plays before the site became defunct. Leading the way in 2005, The Transfer became one of the first bands to fully promote their music using podcast radio stations. Within a month of promotion, the band had been added to over thirty stations. The broadcasts caught the attention of XM Radio, which led to the addition of three songs to station 52.
