Artist
The Tours was a new wave/power pop band from Poole in the U.K. It was made up of Ronnie Mayor (guitars/vocals), Steve Jeff (bass), Richard Mazda (guitars/vocals), and Mark Spiers (drums). They self-released the single "Language School" in 1979, and they soon signed up with Virgin Records to release "Tourist Information" (also in 1979). The group folded soon afterward, without ever producing a full album. Mazda later went on to a very successful producing/production career working with artists such as Wall of Voodoo and The Fall. Singer-songwriter frontman Mayor went on to a solo career. A retrospective work titled 'Album Of The Year... (That Never Was)' came out in 2010 through the label Cherry Red; it featured all four tracks from the group's two singles as well as a bunch of additional songs.
