The Tetraktys recorded a cover of "Calgary," originally recorded by Great Speckled Bird, with original GSB guitarist Amos Garrett, a fact pretty much cementing them as the coolest band playing the festival this year. This is absolutely perfect psychedelic folk pop, forgoing stoned ramblings for intelligence in song and arrangement. -Sled Island 2008 Festival programme The debut full length album + new/live radio tracks available at http://www.last.fm/music/The+Tetraktys/+albums The Tetraktys is a band that calls Calgary, Alberta home. The music they play comes from the mind of Barnaby Bennett and could be described as folk, or psychedelic pop, or soundwaves and vibrations. It is what you hear basically. Their debut album Die Brücke (in which the yo-yo string is revealed as a state of mind) was recorded over the course of a year and was recently released. The Tetraktys could be considered a musical collective of sorts, operating without the pretenses that surround the average ensemble → this ensures a unique live experience, in which every show differs from those that preceded it. The Tetraktys loves to make music. http://www.myspace.com/thetetraktys Recent press: http://www.ffwdweekly.com/article/music/music-previews/online-exclusive-old-masters-modern-style http://www.ffwdweekly.com/article/music/music-previews/pythagorean-progression User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
