The TenGooz(http://www.tengooz.com/) are a five man unit with vocals,guitar, bass, drums and sax or trombone. They are known for their electrical LIVE shows at which they play on for hours, mostly original music,in an amazing variety of styles.They have recorded four official cds of their music. In the beginning The melodies and words are mostly created by the vocalist Avi Landau, who is also known for his powerful stage presence.However, some of the bands most popular numbers were written while avi was in his old band Xenophonia, with Ascelin Gordon,Tom Debor, Joe Kern,Eric Stamford and Kawakami Ryutaro. Recently (especially after their last Australian Tour, super bassist Hase G (Nodoka Hasegawa) has become a major contributor of new material. The bands origins can be attributed to the wedding party(2003) of Hidemi Hase and his wife, Ayako ,who had been fans of Xenophonia and friends of the band. In fact Avi had been Hidemi`s English teacher at NASDA,the Japan Space Development Agency. Since Ascelin Gordon had gone back to Australia after his second stint at Tsukuba`s High Energy Physics Laboratory,Xenophonia had fallen into a state of dormancy. Hidemi invited Avi, and local blues guitarist Fumi Tanaka to perfom some songs as entertainment at the wedding reception. Avi composed the now legendary Hase Song for the newlyweds and the crowd reaction was such that Avi, Tanaka, Hidemi and Ayako were encoursged to form a new band.
