The Summervilles are a three piece power-pop punk rock band out of Melbourne, Australia. Forming in late 2010 and releasing an EP in 2011, the group spent the better half of 2012 writing songs, spilling beer and winning hearts at endless gigs whilst cutting through the rough Melbourne music scene. 2013; The Summervilles release their debut LP "Twelve Ways To Fuckup Before Breakfast". The band attempts to reconcile the absurdity of mundane nostalgia with a world of social and political ineptness, oh and the impending zombie apocalypse (easier said than done) The album is completely D.I.Y; recorded, mixed and mastered by the band in a bedroom in west Melbourne. 2012; The Summervilles put out a single "Spilt Thoughts From A Garage Romantic". A song about 'all sides of the city'. All D.I.Y recorded at an East-Melbourne practice space and produced by brand new drummer Leigh Mannes in his chaotic mad-scientist music backroom in a house in the west of Melbourne. 2011; The Summervilles release their debut EP "Garage Romantic" independently. Inspired by the morbid monotony of suburbia, a fixation on social greeds and shortcomings as seen through the lens of 80s/90s punk rock ideals. Writing songs in a run down room-for-rent in the back alleys of Mascot; a typical low-rent suburb in Sydney's South. The group recorded a bunch of songs with producer James Cadsky at The Vault in Sydney. Original drummer David Tapia leaves the band shortly after. User-contributed text is available und
