The Sugi Tap is an alternative/power-pop band operating since May of 2005, and formed by former Eve 6 members Max Collins (vocals, bass) and Tony Fagenson (drums, background vocals) after Eve 6's split. The band primarily plays in Southern California venues, with the slightly altered line-up of Max on vocals and guitar, and Tony on drums, with backing musical tracks, with very sparce electronic elements. For nearly a year after the announcement of Collins and Fagenson working together, no news was heard, and in late-spring/early-summer of 2006, the first update was given to the old Eve 6 community, and the first dates for shows posted. Max gave an interview recently, revealing some details about the Sugi Tap, namely that: -Don Gilmore (the producer of Eve 6's first two albums) was involved, albeit from "afar." -The band has around 15 recorded demos, of varying quality. -The band will be changing its name soon. Recently (mid-late July 2006) the Sugi Tap have been more involved with the MySpace network, (Profile Here) promising the release of some of the 15 recorded demos the band has as soon as the Sugi Tap hit the 1,000 friends mark on MySpace. This was accomplished quite quickly, in large part to word-of-mouth. The songs "Pick up the Pieces" and "Mr. Bones" were made public, "Mr. Bones" being a reworked song from Max's short-lived solo performances, Brotherhood of Lost Dogs. A blog on the band's MySpace shortly after the release promised another two songs to be posted whe
