The Strangers Almanac

The Strangers Almanac is the folk-pop project of Dundee based songwriter Gord Matheson and multi-instrumentalist Avril Smart. After a string of home-recorded releases, Gord put out 2009's 'Car Boat Sail' LP, an attempt at chronicling a round-the-world trip and the breakup of a relationship. Over the next two years, Gord and Avril played many shows, sometimes as a duo but occasionally with a full band, and have supported the likes of Esperi, The Hazey Janes, RM Hubbert, Mersault and FOUND. 2011 saw the release of the single 'Whale Watching For Beginners', and in 2013 Gord and Avril released the LP 'Those Tremendous Mountains' as a free download.
