The Storybook Ending

The Storybook Ending were a 6-piece emo/post-hardcore band based in Shropshire, UK. They took influence from bands in and around the emo/post-hardcore genre, such as Halifax, Underoath and Yesterday's Rising to name but a few to form a marriage of delicate, melodic, heartfelt breakdowns and crushing dynamics, and an exoplsive live performance. They released 2 EPs called "Handguns and Heartbreaks" and "Victory For My Princess." "Like many bands out there, The Storybook Ending formed when members Matthew Street (lead vocals), Leigh Kerrigan (bass guitar and vocals) and Leon Russell (guitar) met whilst studying at University. The initial three members, who shared a common musical interest, started out playing acoustic shows under the name of False Start. Their quest to find a drummer began. Meanwhile a fourth member in the shape of Matt's elder brother Paul Street (rhythm guitar and vocals) added another dimension to the band's sound. In September 03, Phil Birtwhistle (drummer) joined TSE to complete the line up. All five members of the band are truly passionate about music, regarding it as their life. Their influences are wide ranging, coming from bands such as Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, Silverstein, Zebrahead, Hidden in Plain View, Alexisonfire and finally A Static Lullaby.
