The Stockholm Syndrome is noisecore / metal band from Sydney, Australia formed in early 2002 from ashes of hardcore band Syndicate. The intention of The Stockholm Syndrome was to write music that attempted to do nothing less than challenge the parameters of their expressive needs and capabilities, as well as push them musically outside of the 'pigeon hole' category of hardcore. The band create this by incorporating pummeling and chaotic metal influenced hardcore that ignores being technical for the sake of technical, and by the unpredictable song structures and explosive vocals that will carry you through songs only to knock you over in a train-wreck of heavy discordant chords & tortured breakdowns. The Stockholm Syndrome plan to incorporate all influenced musical styles from their broad amalgamation of musical inspiration on top of their well developed sound & structure, while also experimenting with new ideas.
