The Stay Gones

We are a melodic punk rock band based in Edinburgh, formed in January 2010. Our sound has been likened to that of Leatherface, Gaslight Anthem and Hot Water Music. The Stay gones came about when several months after having last seen each other and had a jam, Raph and Stu met again at the Propagandhi show in Edinburgh. Raph, naturally was steamin, and suggested giving the band another go. It was around this time that it also looked like the terrors were coming to an end (Michael and raph's band at the time). So Stu phoned Jas, a friend of a friend, and invited her along to play drums. Raph phoned Michael, said there was some melodic, bearded, punk rock action going down on January 18th 2010 and asked if he wanted a piece. It went something like this: Stu: Jas, this is raph and Michael. Raph: Michael, this is Stu and Jas We tried a fairly awful None More Black cover, then tried some of our own stuff, and it sounded pretty alright. So we did it again. We got some shows booked, then march came round and we recorded at Boab's shed in Cambuslang. The songs sounded good.
