Once the highlight of the north Dorset stoned lofi scene, The Space Cakes are now in long-term hibernation. The band was formed in 2002 by Julian and Chris. They forged a lo-fi folk-rock sound as a platform for various teenage-bohemian themes. They recorded a much-derided album in 2003: ‘The Space Cakes Versus The World’. The album showcases eight original songs exploring obsessions with rock ‘n’ roll iconography, deeper inhibitions and wet dreams.
