The South Carolina Broadcasters is an American bluegrass band based in Mount Airy, North Carolina, formed by David Sheppard (guitar, vocals), Jackson Cunningham (mandolin, guitar, vocals), Stu Geisbert (bass, vocals) and Ivy Sheppard (banjo, fiddle, vocals) and later becoming the trio David Sheppard, Ivy Sheppard, and Sarah Osborne (later of Chatham Rabbits). “Southern children going forward at top volume” is truly what this little mission band is. The South Carolina Broadcasters are not to be missed. From heart stompin’ love songs eyes to rowdy gospel numbers that’ll make you shout hallelujah there is a rare beauty and honesty in the trio’s music. "With passion, power and precision, they carry forward the inspiration of the Carter Family, whose 1920s and ’30s recordings provide the model for the Broadcasters."
