The Soundscapes have also been active in Boston, Washington D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia. They boast a musical connection that transcends that of other bands. As brothers, they move together in perfect musical harmony, weaving melodic and angular guitars over hard-hitting drums and hook-laden vocals. Inspired by pioneering bands like Sonic Youth, Fugazi, The Clash and My Bloody Valentine, as well as the aesthetics of the "Madchester" scene, the Carvalho brothers have impressively boiled down their influences into vibrant engaging music, as displayed on their debut LP, "Freestyle Family". The album is a real tour-de-force, consisting of ten tracks produced, recorded and mixed by John Davis at The Bunker Studio in Brooklyn, NY.
