The Snake Armed Man is an anti-folk musician currently based in San Francisco, California. His music is characterized by lyrical and instrumental improvisation, as well as untrained, often off-key vocals. The Snake Armed Man cites several folk artists from various eras as influences, including, but not limited to, Townes Van Zandt, Phil Ochs, Jeff Mangum, Conor Oberst, Ralph Stanley, Daniel Johnston, Nick Drake, as well as several punk rock acts. Currently, Snake Armed Man has three completed albums, The Snake Armed Album and The Great White Light, and is collaborating with Conor Jansen on an album.
