The Smackdown was a Band from Luleå (Sweden) which was founded in 2002 and is inactive since 2007 due to health problems of a member. They played noisy high intensity Hardcore in the style Refused or JR Ewing. The band shared the stage with bands like Sista Sekunden, Just Went Black, Gone With The Pain, Ghostchant, Undressed Army, Tatort Toilet, KSM40 and many more. Bandmembers: Robert Larsson - Vocals Linus Ahlbäck - Guitar Olov Andersson - Guitar Mattias Carlsson - Drums Johannes Jensen - Bass Discography: 2002 - The Smackdown [EP] (Coalition Records) 2005 - Calling The Spots (Goodfellow Records) 2006 - Someone Has To Kill The Headwriter (Goodfellow Records) In 2006 there still remains a band that willingly gets in a van and drives it on their own to a gig happily booked by themselves to play to kids that didn't have to take a bank loan out to pay to get into said show. A band that doesn't stop to change a string when it breaks and instead throws the instrument down and drops and elbow on it and throws it into the crowd, A kind of band that will in our lifetime die a horrible death and be taken over by the cold hand of insincerity and greed.
