The Sleeping Tribune was an amalgamation of 5 young adults, all bringing different styles and influences to the table. The band produced a small amount of music over the 5 years they were around, creating for itself a small niche in the Grand Rapids music scene. After several years of sparse activity and poor communication, the band members went their separate ways, playing their farewell show in July of 2007. The music itself provides an accurate snapshot of 5 teenagers feeling their way around musical arrangement and execution, displaying the naivety and innocence of high school age musicians. Bassist Tim Lenger has gone on to form Tall Ships, a metalcore act based in Grand Rapids, with Nick Nawrocki and Jeremy Miller, two former members of Every Passing Hour. Shane Tripp, guitarist and vocalist recorded a solo album in 2009 with Andy Howse, solo musician and former member of the power-pop act Please, Oh Please!. Steve Phillips, guitarist, is currently attending University of Michigan with a 4.0 GPA. Ben Weissenborn, drummer, attended Central Michigan University with a major in journalism. Brandon Grubaugh, guitarist and vocalist, is slaving away for the man, attending classes at GRCC, and being exceptionally attractive in his free time. In 2010 Shane, Ben, and Brandon went on to form Petals Rang the Bell with Andy Howse, who had previously recorded Shane's solo album. They released their self-titled album at the tail end of 2011.
