Artist
Sky Corvair appeared in 1994 as a side project for Cap'n Jazz, Gauge, and Braid. Their sole release, "Unsafe at Any Speed", comes off sounding like a blend between the aforementioned bands; jangly, moving melodies, with patented, adolescent, Kinsella vocals, a bit of screaming and abstract lyrics of Sandler, Nanna and Frank. The project was short lived as Tim Kinsella began to focus more attention to Cap'n Jazz around 1995. The band enlisted Alex Stisser to replace Tim Kinsella's absence. "Unsafe At Any Speed" was originally released in 1997 as a split release between ActionBoy Records and Grand Theft Autumn. It consisted of tracks from two different recording sessions, nine songs from 1994 (with Kinsella) and three tracks recorded in 1995 (with Stisser). The original members played a reunion show at the Fireside Bowl in Chicago in January 1998. The album was reissued by Divot in 2001.
