With the idea of combining the feeling of gothic music with electronical sounds, Pierre Tornkvist raised the idea of The Sins of Cain in late 2003. Finding vocal assistance in Hakan Sorle the road to musical excellence began. The aim could be described as creating the 21st Century Sisters of Mercy, electronical music with a gothic athmosphere. Musically, the two comrades, come from different environments. Whilst Pierre has been, and still is, heavily involved in punk-ass rockers Helltrain (signed to Nuclear Blast in Europe, Jimmy Franks Recording Company / Universal - USA), historically linked to death- and blackmetalmusicianship in various acts as The Moaning (No Fashion), Scheitan (Century Media), Hakan comes from a punk & pop environment, being the vocalist in the Swedish pop band Spoiler (Birdnest) and guitarist & songwriter for The Baboon Show. The band has been searching for a sound during the last two years, spring 2005 came with the descision to re-record songs without the use of a guitar , deleting all analogue elements except from the vocals.
