The Shovels are a five piece Hasselt (Belgium) based superband that, aparrently, has arrived in our present time zone by a huge quantum leap caused by a malfunctioning time machine dating back from 1966. Armed with a great deal of enthusiasm and a collection of original pop-tunes they’re out to prove that well-composed rock based upon infectious hooks and melodies is not dead. Unmarred by all of today’s trends and fashions they bring their very own brand of retrobeatpopmusic, though also revealing a habit of years spent listening to bands like The Kinks, The Beatles and The Who… They’ve defined their own musical style as ‘Dwalm’ and have accordingly taken on “Dwalm Power” as their very own motto going forward in spreading their manna across rock’s blissful realms...
