The Secret Trio is a New York-based band playing Mediterranean and Turkish music. The members are composer and oud player Ara Dinkjian, clarinettist Ismail Lumanovski, and kanun player Tamer Pınarbaşı. The trio, with its roots in Turkish, Armenian, and Macedonian Roma music, incorporates original melodies and traditional pieces with the microtonal modes of the Middle East, dance beats of the Balkans, improvisations and influences of jazz, rock, and classical music, and the music of many other traditions.
