About: The Season Standard When emotional subjectivity and rational objectivity cut sharply through eachother in a persons mind, they either have a problem or a big advantage. Without knowing it for sure one can assume that the latter is the case in this project. Their technical perfection doesn’t drown in emotionless constructs, it rather strengthens the atmosphere of the music. The Season Standard is both uncompromising and manifold at the same time. The progressive rock of these musicians who are all in their twenties, is quirky and complex beyond recognition a construct that asks for a delicate perception. Yet every song comes across shamelessly easy going and convincing even live. The Season Standard was founded in 1995 in Meißen, a small town near Dresden. From the age of 16, the members contributed exclusively to the punk- and grunge scene which despite the small-town environment was on the go. The first concerts were organized quickly, but already back then, the main goal was to create their own style. The musical influences of the band members were extremely different and needed to be brought into accordance. The following years were mainly a time of trying things out. During this time the core members of the band, consisting of Mathias Jähnig, Simon Beyer and Daniel Scherf, grew even closer together musically. In the
