The Scribes are a new wave hip hop four piece based in the South West known for innovative, fresh tunes and breath taking live performances. Formed seven years ago by co-lyricists Ill Literate and Loki Steele, The Scribes have since gone from strength to strength with the addition of DJ/Producer Spinz to the mix bringing the heaviest of beats to kick crap out of your cliches. The line up was finalised in 2003 with human beatbox maestro Lacey, bringing yet another side to the groups already impressive array of skills and adding another element to the must see live show. In the winter of 2005 The Scribes released their first record, The Evolution EP, on London based Unsung Records, a six track available on both CD and Vinyl from most good record shops, for download using the link below or get in touch via e mail to order online. The Scribes much anticipated first full length album, "The Sky Is Falling" featuring MC Lars, was released late 2008 through Unsung Records, available in all good record shops and online and pushes the envelope even further, both musically and lyrically. Following a hugely successful album tour of the UK, taking the group through Universities and club venues and onto the continent to spread their unique sound to Europe, the Scribes released hit single "Raindance", and hit the road once again.
