Artist
There are at least four artists with the name "The Scarlets" 1. A surf, rock & roll band from New York, USA, that released one 45 on Dot Records in October 1959: "Stampede b/w Park Avenue" (Dot 45-16004) Line-up: Howard Herman (saxophone), Pete Antonio (lead guitar), Tony Lepard (drums), John Sanzone (rhythm guitar) 2. A doo-wop group formed in Connecticut in 1953 and led by Fred Parris. 3. A four piece Australian punk-rock band (2009- present), released "Blow Your House Down" 2010. 4. An indie rock group from Seattle. 3. Drawing musical inspiration predominantly from German and Scandinavian punk-rock and decorated with lyrics that throw back to everyone from Kiss to Chuck Palahniuk and Edgar Allen Poe, THE SCARLETS have a rare spark that is a diamond in the rough of rock music today. Their wide-ranging appeal has seen them share the stage with the likes of everyone from underground punk royalty to Bon Jovi, play metal festivals to cabaret nights, not to mention having regular radio play on several Australian radio stations both community and commercial. Born of singer NELLI SCARLET and bass player NICK IVKAS combined love of ball-tearing rock'n'roll and respect for popular music, THE SCARLETS began as an idea to create a band that was everything they wanted to see and hear in a local band but couldnt find anywhere. Soon followed the arrival of pocket rocket drummer LIZZIE DYNON, where the three discovered they had a chemistry that couldnt go to waste. Enter guitar prodigy
