The Sad Song Co. is the solo project of the fascinating multi-talented drummer Nigel Powell. He used to be the drummer for Unbelievable Truth, and when that band split he embarked on this acoustic-prog-project to showcase some of the best ideas he had had that didn't fit into the ubt mold. On the verge of taking the world by storm with his first album "Miseryguts" in 2003, he then stepped in when Dustball's drummer left - the band then reinventing itself as Dive Dive. As well as drumming for Andy Yorke's new "solo" guise, and fulltime drumming with Dive Dive as they tour on a regular basis Nigel has also found time to produce friends' albums and also knock out his second long player, Poignant Device. Sadly this busy schedule has prevented further solo gigs to date, but that will no doubt change in the future.
